Characteristic of Living Nutrition :
All living organisms need food. Food gives us energy to grow, to move and for other life processes that go on inside their body. Green plants make their own food by using sunlight, carbon dioxide and water. The process is known as photosynthesis. They are called as autotrophs.
Animals cannot produce food for themselves therefore they obtain it from plants and other animals. Organisms that depend on other organisms for food are called as heterotrophs. Animals that eat plants like cow, goat, giraffes, dear etc. are called as herbivores and those which eat animals are called as carnivores. There are organisms like birds, dogs, foxes , insects etc.which can eat both are called as omnivores.
